Speak Up for Kids - Registration is now open for 2016 Speak Up for Kids, to be held March 16, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Denver and the Colorado State Capitol. A joint effort of Clayton Early Learning, Children’s Hospital Colorado and Colorado Children’s Campaign, Speak Up for Kids is a complimentary event that provides an insider’s perspective of the policy making process, including the training and support needed to speak up effectively on the issues that matter most to Colorado kids.  

Research Shows that the School Nutrition Standards Improve the School Nutrition Environment and Student Outcomes - Recent research suggests that new federal standards for school meals are yielding positive results. According to the new brief by Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), school nutrition standards are improving the food offered in schools; reducing school meal disparities; and improving student nutrition-related outcomes.

School Wellness Training - The Office of School Nutrition and the Colorado Education Initiative are offering regional training sessions aimed at helping districts take their local school wellness policies to the next level. District wellness teams (wellness coordinators, food service directors, school teachers, parents, administrators, school nurses, local public health officials and local community partners) are encouraged to attend.
